Born into one of Burgundy’s great winemaking families, Joseph Colin — son of Marc Colin and brother to Pierre-Yves Colin — founded his own domaine in 2017, based in Saint-Aubin. His estate spans approximately six hectares, covering premier sites in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Puligny-Montrachet.
Joseph’s approach is both artisanal and detail-oriented: organic farming, manual harvesting, and minimal intervention in the cellar. He favors whole-bunch pressing, indigenous yeasts, and extended aging on fine lees to build texture without heaviness. Oak use is restrained, allowing the minerality of the terroirs to shine.
His wines are striking for their tension and purity — crystalline expressions of Chardonnay that balance precision with depth. The Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “En Remilly” and Chassagne-Montrachet “Les Chaumées” are benchmarks for modern white Burgundy.
Though young, the domaine has already gained international acclaim for its energy and focus. Joseph Colin’s work embodies the new generation of Burgundy: uncompromising, terroir-driven, and deeply faithful to its origins.
