Lalú is a young Barolo project founded by Lara Rocchetti and Luisa Sala, whose combined names form the identity of the winery. After studying at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo and gaining experience with several leading producers in Piedmont and Burgundy, the two launched their own project with the goal of producing precise, terroir-focused wines in the Langhe.
The estate is based in Serralunga d’Alba, with vineyards located in several communes including Monforte d’Alba and La Morra. Key vineyard sites include parcels in Le Coste, Roncaglie, and Bussia Bovi, one of the important MGAs of Barolo.
Viticulture follows organic principles, with careful vineyard management and manual harvesting to maintain vine balance and fruit quality. In the cellar, the approach combines traditional Barolo techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Fermentations occur with indigenous yeasts and macerations are managed gently to preserve aromatic finesse. The wines are aged in large oak botti and concrete vessels, emphasizing transparency rather than oak influence.
The range includes Barolo Le Coste di Monforte d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Barbera d’Alba, wines that highlight the elegance and structure of Nebbiolo grown in these historic vineyards.
Despite its small scale, Lalú has quickly gained attention for producing refined Barolo wines that combine classic structure with freshness and precision.
