Founded in 2011 by Sébastien Caillat and Florence Lamy, Domaine Lamy-Caillat is an exceptionally small micro-estate situated in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy. Though it began with merely 1.2 hectares, the domaine has quickly distinguished itself through rigorous craftsmanship and a singular vision of terroir-expression.
In the vineyard, Caillat and Lamy work organically, hand-harvesting carefully selected plots, most notably 1er cru sites such as Les Caillerets, La Romanée and Les Champs Gains. The soils, composed of shallow clay-limestone marl, combined with the meticulous vineyard regime yield grapes of outstanding purity and minerality.
In the cellar the philosophy is equally uncompromising: the grapes are pressed in an old mechanical press, vinification is gentle, and élevage is extended — typically a year in barrel then a further year on lees in tank before bottling. No filtration is applied. The result is wines of striking clarity, texture and ageing potential: richly layered yet distinctly mineral-driven.
Production remains extremely limited (just a few thousand bottles annually) yet demand is high. The wines are rapidly gaining recognition among Burgundy specialists and collectors for their elegance, focus and capacity to convey the signature purity of Chassagne’s best terroirs. This domaine offers importers a rare opportunity to feature a boutique Burgundian producer whose wines stand out for their craftsmanship, authenticity and exclusivity.
