Domaine Antoine Jobard is one of the benchmark estates of Meursault, widely respected for producing Chardonnay of remarkable precision and longevity. The domaine’s reputation was established by François Jobard, whose uncompromising style emphasized mineral structure and ageing potential. Since 2007, the estate has been run by his son Antoine Jobard, who continues the family’s classical approach while refining the wines with a slightly more polished touch.
The domaine farms approximately five hectares of vineyards, almost entirely planted to Chardonnay. Its holdings include several important Meursault sites such as En la Barre, Les Tillets, and Chevalières, as well as premier cru vineyards Genevrières, Poruzots, Charmes, and Blagny. These limestone-rich parcels are the foundation for wines known for their clarity and mineral tension.
Viticulture is meticulous and harvesting is done entirely by hand. In the cellar, Antoine Jobard favors a restrained approach: gentle pressing, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and long élevage in oak barrels, typically 18 to 22 months, with moderate use of new wood.
The range includes village Meursault bottlings as well as highly regarded wines such as Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières and Meursault Poruzots. The wines are known for their firm structure, refined texture, and exceptional ageing capacity.
Today, Domaine Antoine Jobard remains one of the most authentic expressions of classical Meursault.
